Hello! My name is Teacher Jeremiah, and I am so happy to meet you! 

I graduated from Huntington University with a Bachelor of Arts in 2004 and earned my Master of Arts in 2013. I have also taken several doctoral courses, one specifically in education, though I have not yet begun pursuing any degree.

I have over eleven years’ experience tutoring and teaching various levels ranging from preschool to graduate school, and I have also assisted international doctoral students with their English by proofreading and editing essays and dissertations. My wife and I have been married 18 years and have four children, ages 5-12. 

I enjoy watching both my students and my children learn and grow, especially when they begin thinking for themselves. My goal while teaching English is to make learning and teaching an enjoyable and exciting educational experience.

Classroom Policies — English

Credit System and Class Times

Students may purchase credit packages in accordance with the Class Offerings and Prices document (above).  Classes can be scheduled every half-hour from 6AM to Noon Eastern Time, Tuesday through Sunday, up to three weeks in advance or on a recurring basis for the duration of the package purchased. Most classes can be taken as either one or two credits, per the student’s preference. Journey classes may only be taken as two credits. Any number of classes may be taken consecutively within the offered timeframes. 

Single credits are valid for a reservation of approximately 25 minutes. Actual class times may range from 23 to 29 consecutive minutes without a change in fee.  

Double credits are valid for a reservation of approximately 50 minutes. Actual class times will either be 48 to 55 consecutive minutes, or 55-58 minutes with a 10 minute break after the first twenty to thirty minutes, without a change in fee. Generally, the student may choose whether to take a break on a class-by-class basis, although the teacher reserves the right to require a break if the Teacher needs one or if the Teacher believes the Student needs one. 

Scheduling, Rescheduling, Cancellations, and No-Shows

Students may request to schedule a class with the Teacher by text message, WeChat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or other mutually agreed upon messaging platform. Once the teacher confirms a scheduled class, that class is considered scheduled, and the following policies will apply for cancelling and rescheduling. 

If the Teacher needs to reschedule a class, a minimum of 1-week notice will be given. Teacher’s failure to provide timely notice will result in the Teacher both rescheduling the class and granting the student an equivalent number of additional compensatory credits. For example, if the Teacher cancels a 2-credit reservation six days before class, then the Student will be granted four credits, two to reschedule the cancelled class, and two more compensatory credits that can be used to schedule an additional 2-credit class or two additional 1-credit classes.

If the Student needs to reschedule a class, a minimum of a 36-hour notice must be given. Student’s failure to give a timely notice will result in the Student forfeiting the credits used for the class reservation.

If rescheduling cannot be completed at the time of a timely notice of cancellation, the student will be refunded the credit(s) and may use them to schedule a class at a later date or time. 

Refund Policy

Students may request a full refund of unused credits within one week of the purchase date. If no credits have been used, students will receive a full refund. 

If any credits have been used, or if more than a week has elapsed since the time of purchase, a return fee will be assessed. The minimum return fee is $70. 

Within the first week, the Student is eligible for a full, prorated refund of unused credits, provided the minimum return fee is met. Prorated refunds within the first week will be calculated as the number of remaining credits times the average cost of credits in the package, provided that the total is more than $70 less than the original payment. For example, if a Student uses one, two, or three credits from a 10-credit package and requests a refund within the first week, then the student will receive a refund in the amount of $229 – $70 = $159. If the student has used three or four or more credits in the first week, the refund would be $229 – (4 * $22.90) = $137.40. 

After the first week has elapsed, the Student is eligible for a prorated refund equivalent to 50% of the remaining credits. For example, if the Student purchases a 10-credit package and requests a refund after the first week, the Student would receive a refund of $22.90 ÷ 2 = $11.45 for each credit remaining in the package, regardless of the number of unused credits.

If the Teacher retires from the platform, a full refund will be given for any remaining credits. If the Teacher wishes to end the Student-Teacher relationship for any reason other than gross student misconduct, a full refund will be given for any remaining credits. If the Teacher ends a Student-Teacher relationship because of gross Student misconduct, the Student will not be eligible for a refund.

Options abound, with food trucks, casual eateries, and fine dining choices galore.

Although Wichita is a thriving metropolis, its residents know how to embrace the great outdoors. The Arkansas River Trail, a well-maintained path several miles long, lets locals and visitors alike explore nature while taking in many of the area’s cultural and historic sites. A stunning suspension bridge allows for strolling along the river, and nightly fire shows around the base of The Keeper of the Plains, a 44’ tall steel Native American statue, light up the sky.
